Week 26

Hello everyone!

This week was such a great learning experience. It was such a good one! Sorry last week’s email wasn’t that great. I did forget to say one thing: We moved Sati’s baptism date to the 24th of this month! So that means we have another baptism.

Monday: By now you know about Paul. (Blind makes mini houses) Today we was kicked out of his home…Luckily we found a place for him. He is a great man. It is such a blessing to tach such a humble person!

Tuesday: Exchange. Elder Spjut (zone leader) came to our area today. We had a great day! He tought us a lot of fun ways to contact people. It was a great learning experience. I also learned a lot of other spiritual thing. It was a great day!

Wednesday: Today we had a full day of teaching. One lesson that really stood out to me is a llesson we had with Vicky and Michelle. It was a great experience. We all went around asking each other questions about God. It was a really fun lesson!

Thursday: Another full day of teaching. NONE of our lessons fell through! We also started a fun game with our ties. We ask people about whose tie is nicer and then we explain that we are missionaries! It works really good! It works so good for the Caribbean people because they are so laid back! It’s fun. Today we finished teaching Claron all of the lessons! She is so cool. I really hope (have faith) That she will be ready for baptism. Pray for her.

Friday: For every good day there is a bad one. LOL Today we didn’t teach that many people…That’s ok! There is a member here that is a really cool guy. Hopefully he will start coming back. He hunts exotic animals. I may or may not have asked him to hunt a leopard.

Saturday: For every bad day there is a good one. Again, no fall throughs! This has only happened a few times and it is so cool that is happened twice this week!

Pres Egbert asked us to tach what we call the 4 Key Lessons:

·       *  God is our Loving Heavenly Father. Teach all the things about Him.

·        * First Vision. Teach all the things we learn about God/Christ.

·        * Book of Mormon. Teach what it does for us and how it can teach us.

·        * Atonement. Teach about what Jesus really did for us.

Sunday: We taught 1 lesson today. That’s ok. We are super busy on Sundays. We finally got to personal study at 7:00pm. We had a good branch correlation today.

This week was great! It’s been very spiritual. I can’t wait to tell you al about Sati’s baptism next week! She is really special. I feel so blessed to have found her, taught her and see her get baptized.

I know that Jesus lives and he was born all those years ago. I know that he is not some silent God that doesn’t care for those under his wings. He loves us with all of his heart and he is there to talk to us through the scriptures and most of all the BOM!

Keep reading the Book of Mormon.  It is good for our spirits. I love you all so much! Keep up the awesome work. Don’t let the little things get in the way of what is most important. Family and God!

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Week 25

Sorry, I didn’t have time to write a lot!

This week was so much fun! I am a little bit sick, but that is ok! I love the people here so much! They are so funny sometimes!

Tuesday: Exchange with Elder Cooper. He is so funny! He is such a cool guy. Also Alena passed her baptism interview.

Thursday: Zone Conference. It was so good. All about helping and serving our companion. We also took Kiefah with us! He is a great missionary!

Friday: Interviews. President Egbert said that I was going to stay in Rosehall! I love him! He is so cool! We need to go visit him when I get back. He lives in SLC.

Saturday: Baptism! Alena is the best! She was so brave. We baptized her in about 6 inches of water! The water turned off and it didn’t come back on! Lol Not too many people showed up, but that’s ok. The spirit was strong!

I love it here so much! I love the people so much!

Week 24

Friends and family,

Wa-gwam! This week was so much fun! I love serving God. It is “The most important work (we) will ever do!” (Joseph Smith Jr.). But really, what an adventure! Let’s get into it!! J

Monday: Today we had ‘Zone Sports’ so all of the missionaries in Barbice gathered together and played football.  Our team win, of course! LOL then the Petersons (Senior Couple) fed us Thanksgiving dinner. It was so good! I love the Petersons. We also bought an awesome mini-house that Paul made, it is so cool!

Tuesday: Exchanges. I went to Carrington with Elder Cooper, poor dude.  He is struggling with his companion.  We did have a fun time in Carrington though! We talked to this old lady named Aunty, she said that she is a, “Little Old Gangster” she is so funny, we had a good time!

Wednesday: Today was crazy! We exchanged back and Elder Spojt (Zone Leader) was like, “Hey I got a a gift for you” So he got me a new bike! It is so nice. My last one was complete crap.  Elder Spojt is the best! We also helped fill a goat pen, the Guyanese way.  We hand moved dirt into the pen.  I was fun, LOL!

Thursday: Today was one of those moments that changed my live.  We have been teaching this lady named Sati for the last 6 months.  She is really simple but has been learning well.  We extended a baptism date to her on the 31st of December.  We were worried because she was not legally married.  She finally told us that she is getting married tomorrow! It’s so cool to think that she has changed her whole life because what we’ve taught her.

Friday:  Today we had great lessons! One that stood out was Paul.  He was very sad and depressed.  His family was telling him that the church is a cult… and all that.  He totally stood up to them and backed us up and everything!  He is such a BOSS!  We also ruined a lesson that some Jehovah’s Witness missionaries were teaching to one of our members! BY ACCIDENT.  We show up and say, “hi” being very friendly and stuff and then all of a sudden, this big ram comes and starts to maul one of the member’s goats!  I chased the ram away but it came back a few minutes later.  So, I grabbed a cutlass and whack the thing with the flat side over the head LOL! After all that we left and then came back an hour later and taught a super spiritual plan of salvation lesson.  The church is true!

Saturday: All I have to say is, “If you don’t have a handbook #2, get one.” If you have one and don’t read it, read it. Sati really did get married and she is such a BOSS. I love her.  I really hope I am here next transfer to see her get baptized.

Sunday: Alena is totally ready to be baptized and we are going to do it on Saturday! I can’t wait.  She is such an awesome little girl.  She is still learning how to read but she memorized scriptures and recites them to us! She is so cool!

I know that Jesus is the Christ AND that he lives.  He is our rock and our salvation.  Everything we do is for Him.  I know that the priesthood is real and way cooler than another ‘superpower.’ I love the gospel, it means everything to me.  I love ya’ll so much!  Keep up the great work.  Read the BOM, and handbook #2 every single day!
