Week 42

Hello everyone!

Happy Easter! We mostly taught about Jesus today! We hung out with the Gangajelly's today too. We call her MammaJelly, she is awesome!

On Tuesday Elder Fisher and I went on exchanges. It was kinda nice to have a break of Parika and meet some new faces! I really like Elder Fisher. He is Canadian. Some of my favorite companions are Canadian. #moosepower

On Wednesday we helped the Khan (members) family with a bunch of yard work. We built a lot of trust and it was awesome. The family came to church on Sunday! So cool!

That was really about it that happened this week. But it is really cool here right now. Everyone is flying kites. They represent the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! It's really exciting.

Seeing that it is Easter, I'd like to share my testimony. I know that Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day. And because he did that, so can we. I know this to be true. I also know that he suffered for my sins and because of him, we can all make it back to live with God. I love you all so much! See ya soon.

(From a letter where I asked if he was really ok. I told him that I missed him for the first time.)

Don't miss us too bad, that makes us miss you too and that is not good! I love you. I will always love you! Momma, don't worry about me. I'm safe here and surrounded by people that love me. I know that Jesus is on my side too. I know that I belong to his church! I knot that he lives. I know that he is there to help me to be the vest that I can be. I love him very much. I love you too! See you soon!

Week 41

Week 41

Hello, hello, hello! This week was really exciting and really boring and really full of “hard work” and really spiritual! Hehehe #LoveGuyana

Really Exciting! On Tuesday Maureen and Shonette passed their baptism interviews! Shonette is going to baptized this coming week or the next! Maureen is gong to be baptized this week! So exciting! I love to see people grow in the Gospel.

Really boring! Elder Nuttall was sick again this week so on Wednesday and Thursday we were inside all day. It was so boring. But I did entertain myself by reading the Handbook #2 Administering the Church. It was really interesting I read the 9 chapters and will probably finish before the transfer is out. And Elder Nuttall is almost fully recovered.

“Hard Work” Friday Elder Nuttall and I were feeling a little lazy so instead of teaching we decided that we wanted to do service. So we built a fence for a member named Sister Gangaljelly. She is awesome. She feed us at least one time a day! I’ve eaten at her house all three meals in one day! She is a boss! It was some “hard work” especially after we busted a pipe and had a trail of our faith plumbing skills! LOL

Really spiritual! Maureen was baptized on Saturday, April 8, 2017. She is such a boss! I love that lady! She was so willing to learn and so ready to change. Very spiritual!
This week was fun! I decided that there is never a dull moment in Guyana. This place is off the wall I love the people. I love the work. I love the Gospel! I know it’s true! I love ya’ll!

Also, a shout out to Amber! She is starting her mission on Wednesday! I love you all so much!

Today I am very grateful for the Prophet. I love Thomas Monson. I know that he is a prophet and am very grateful to hear his voice. I love him very much. He is such an amazing example to us. I love what he sadi about the BOM. I know it is true as well. I urge everyone to read it! IF you aren’t, do. If you are, more! #LDSconf

Bad haircut. LOL

Week 39

Week 39

This week wasn’t the most exciting but it was really spiritual. I’d mostly like to tell a story about an amazing lady named Maureen.

Maureen grew up in Guyana and raised a family here. After her husband left her and her two kids, she worked her hardest to help them to have the best life that they could. Eventually she was able to save up enough money to send her two sons to the States. As she sent them off (ages 11, 13) she hoped and prayed that they would, “Find the truth.”

Her oldest son was shortly baptized into the church. A while after that, Mario (her younger son) left on a mission. He told Maureen what he was doing and how they would only be able to email for that time. Mario strongly encouraged his own mother to “Find the Truth” as he did. Shortly thereafter I had the honor and privilege to meet a wonderful daughter of God named Maureen. After one simple lesson, she prayed and asked God if Joseph was a prophet and if the BOM is true. She said “More powerful than anything [she] has ever felt, [she] knows that the BOM is true!”

President Egbert felt very impressed to open up Parika. I feel that one of the many reasons was to find Maureen. She is the gateway to the rest of Guyana that has not be touched yet.

This story has changed my life. It has made me understand more about families, missions and the BOM.

I know that the BOM is true, even though I never saw the things we read about. I did not sail with Nephi and his family. I did not hear King Benjamin preach. I did not proselyte with Alma and Amulek. I did not see Jesus the Christ appear to the Nephites. I did not weep with Mormon and Moroni as they saw every last one of their friends, family, and brothers die. But, I know that this Book is true. I know Christ lives. I am a witness of Him. And I will always be a witness of Him. I know with all my heart that Jesus Christ’s one and only church is on the earth once again.

I humbly would ask everyone who reads this to ask God if the BOM is true. Please. I promise to EVERYONE, God WILL answer you.

I love you all. Stay strong.
