WEEK 5

Hey Family!! How are you?

This week was super awesome!!!!

Mon: We taught the Nerin Family. They are less active and Bro. Nerin was like 45 mins late so the lesson was super-fast! But that’s ok. He is a little bit not all there. We also taught Sis. Babra about the Atonement. She lost her 30-year-old disabled son a few weeks ago and is really sad. We are trying to help her to understand that the Atonement of Christ will make him whole and even though there is separation that there is nothing to be afraid about.

Tues: We had our first District meeting. Elder Peterson and Elder Cooper are the only other Elders in our district. Things get a little bit busy with the small amount of people. Elder Cooper and I were in the MTC together.  We are good friends. There were 37 of us in the MTC and 7 of us went to the Trinidad mission. All the Elders are in Guyana right now. We also taught a slam dunk lesson to Sis. Vivian (the most converted new member). Then we taught Sheena and Marsha about obedience to the prophets. They Are doing good. They are our only progressing investigators and they are looking like they are going to be baptized on the 13 of August. We also taught Sis. Synthia about the BOM she seemed more motivated to read which is really good! Tuesday was super-hot and humid!!

Weds: We Traveled to Blackbush to teach the Bastios it cost $1600 G to get there by car so we can’t visit them very often. Then we taught Andrea about the BOM. She is almost re-activated she just needs to come to church more. Then we got a referral to go and find the only Christian people in a place we call "Hindu-ville" We hunted and hunted, but could never find them.

Thurs: First we taught Tayna about the BOM. Then We taught Sheena and Marsha about the 10 Commandments. They had no major concerns with the Commandments. After that we taught the Indardats. They are a family of 10 so as imagined, the lesson was all over the place, from tomatoes being thrown (2-year-old Isaiah) to Everyone over the age of 18 leaving so we had to leave too. It was totally crazy!

Fri: One-month! It was also Zone conference. It was mostly instructional. It was really good to see the old District Alma back together! (All of the missionaries in Guyana where there. About 40) Later that night (We got back at 7:30PM) We taught Sis. Barbra. It was pretty good. I was hoping for a slam dunk but it was more of a bad layup.

Sat: We had an Interview with Pres. Egbert. I think it was pretty good. Later that day we taught a Rastafarian and we dropped him like a sack of rocks. It was a little bit of a waste of time. Then we taught Tayna and her sister again and about the BOM. After that we taught Sheena and Marsha about Eternal Families and Temples.

Sun: We went to the Church an hour early to meet investigators. We only had 2 come. Sis. Sati and Sis. Angele. We were sad that our Progressing investigators Sheena and Marsha didn't come. That’s ok, it rained so hard and they have little babies so it was probably good that they didn’t come. Then we worked with the branch counsel and then we did the finances and then we cleaned up the Church. We were there for almost 7 hours. Then we were able to teach Rena after all of our studies and stuff.

This week was so amazing! Elder Cook is a total Goofball just like me and we are great friends! I love you all so much! Thanks for all of the prayers.

One Love (as they say in Guyana)
