Week 10

Hey Family!

Things here in Guyana are great! The weather is hot always, which is good because it never feels like Christmas. Which means we sing Christmas hymns all the time! Elder Ruegger and I came out at the same time which means we are like co-companions? But this is my area so I do most of the planning and stuff because Elder Ruegger is so new. So, I’m the senior companion I guess.

This week was so awesome! I love it here so much! I know, even though it is super hard, that Jesus Christ and His Atonement can give us the power to do all things! This week I was able to see that love at the Baptism of Marsha. As she followed the example of Jesus Christ and was baptized unto repentance. I know that Christ loves Marsha, and me, and also everyone that reads this simple email from a boy that has no idea what he is doing! Even though I’m not a perfect missionary or a perfect person, I do know that He loves us! When we are good, when we are bad, when we are close or far. He suffered for our sins, he did that so we might live, and he was raised on the third day so that we can do the same! I Love you, and more importantly HE LOVES YOU! Be strong!

I did do something amazing for my birthday! I got the opportunity to teach the word of God to those that don't understand it yet! BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! And yes I eat goat, it was delicious.

This week was all over the place, I’ll cover the highlights.

The Companion: Elder Ruegger is my new Companion! He is so cool! He lived in Logan before his mission, He loves Rugby and plays position 8, if that means anything to anyone.

The Transfer: I went and stayed with Elder Alitasi for a few days in Cangie it was cool! Their apartment is much more humble than ours, so I did my best to help clean and things like that!

The Baptism: Everything was great! We only had both the speakers missing and the opining prayer missing! And we almost forgot the Baptism clothes, twice. And I almost fell in the trench, twice! We really need to fix the bridge into the church... Marsha's baptism was amazing! Will you and the family write or email her? Will you bear your testimonies and stuff? I think that would be really cool!

I love it here so much! I love the people here so much! I love everything about this crazy place!!!

Love, Elder Andrus
